Initially, I never really planned any of this! What began as ‘just another season’ following St Johnstone home and away, grew arms and legs several times overl and turned into a football odyssey stretching far beyond Scotland. From familiar grounds at home to matches across Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Portugal, France and Turkey – and an unforgettable trip through Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil – the book captures the places, people and experiences that make watching football wonderful - and far more than just what happens over 90 minutes.
At its heart is my team, St Johnstone FC, and a season that began with the club relegated to the Scottish Championship but ended with the title won and promotion back to the Premiership.
